Join us for Tribe Network’s Black Start-Up Project Atlantic Roadshow!

As part of our Black Start-Up Project launch and community outreach, we will be hosting community events across Atlantic Canada between April and May. RSVP today!

Tribe is inviting Black entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners to network, eat and talk about challenges and opportunities to help inform Tribe Network’s Black Start-Up Project programs and services that will propel Black entrepreneurship and innovation forward.

Tia Upshaw | Black Women in Excellence

Tia is a mother of three, serial entrepreneur, facilitator, motivational speaker, consultant, mentor, and CEO and founder of BLK Women in Excellence. Tia is huge on community engagement and is very proud to say she has supported, educated and encouraged 51 black women to start businesses.

Treno Morton | Fumes Rolling Papers & Inspiring Communities

Treno works as a Community Engagement Specialist at Inspiring Communities, in addition to co-owning a business with his two brothers. Treno Morton is an advocate for equality in his community of Uniacke Square, as well as in other underrepresented communities across HRM.

Black Start-Up Project Atlantic Roadshow speaker, Tiffani Young

Tiffani Young | Natural Butter Bar

Tiffani is the founder of Natural Butter Bar, recent winner of New Business of the Year at the Halifax Business Awards! Tiffani has a heart for the community, with a particular focus on Black women and youth. Prior to opening Butter Bar, she worked with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Halifax as an After-School Coordinator and a Youth Outreach Worker.

This event is open to Black community members with entrepreneurial ambitions and Black entrepreneurs with established businesses who want to access training workshops, capital, networking opportunities, entrepreneurial support and more!

About the Black Start-Up Project

What if more Black, Indigenous and People of Colour worldwide had the knowledge, resources and tools needed to succeed as entrepreneurs and innovators? And what if these supports were shared by us, for us?

Tribe Network’s Black Start-Up Project is a unique program to provide Black entrepreneurs and business owners – like you – in Atlantic Canada with access to programming, funding, mentorship, coaching and opportunities in the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem to help START, BUILD and ACCELERATE their business. 

Black entrepreneurs who register can win up to $10,000 in prize money.
